For a change let’s switch from mens football to womens football. We know how terribly dangerous, aggressive and violent the game can be as was made clear by my Top 10 Dirtiest Players post. There are plenty of names in that list which are still not included. Those challenges, tackles, lunges deserve severe punishment. Honestly, I didn’t imagine these despicable things happened in the womens game too. I mean off all the games that I’ve seen they have been very slow, chances have been rued badly and passing been woeful but the following video displays how wrong I can be!

Elizabeth Lambert is a New Mexico defender. She along with her team mates very contesting to reach the finals of Mountain West and taking on Brigham Young. As can be seen from the video below she punches, kicks and roughs up practically any BYU player that she comes across.

Later, she was suspended from all team practices, competition itself and conditioning activities. Also she released this statement.

I am deeply and wholeheartedly regretful for my actions.

My actions were uncalled for. I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment felt necessary from the coaching staff and UNM administration. This is in no way indicative of my character or the soccer player that I am. I am sorry to my coaches and teammates for any and all damages I have brought upon them. I am especially sorry to BYU and the BYU women’s soccer players that were personally affected by my actions. I have the utmost respect for the BYU women’s soccer program and its players.

Utmost respect or another way of saying they’re just too weak. Oh also, Lambert received only a yellow card and her team won. Her team mates can proudly say they have a Materazzi amongst them!
